There were 5 main elements to our Climate Challenge Carbon Savings Project from May 2010 to March 2011 and the total carbon saving achieved was a magnificent 181,226.53 KgCO2e. Well done to everyone who participated!The CCF funding for 2011/12 has supported the Growing Green Project to build on what was achieved throughout 2010/11 - enhancing the development of the allotment site, composting site, and installing more paths for the community. It allowed KCF to increase their Home Energy programme to allow more people to take advantage of the help, advice and savings available. Additionally, a Low Carbon Transport initiative was launch with the development of a Cowal-wide car sharing scheme to encourage the communities of Cowal to cut carbon and costs by lift sharing on journeys throughout the region.
