There were 5 main elements to our Climate Challenge Carbon Savings Project from May 2010 to March 2011 and the total carbon saving achieved was a magnificent 181,226.53 KgCO2e. Well done to everyone who participated!
The CCF funding for 2011-2012 is supporting the Growing Green Project in building on what was achieved last year - enhancing the development of the allotment site, composting site, and installing more paths for the community. We will also increasing our Home Energy programme to allow more people to take advantage of the help, advice and savings available. Door to door Home Energy advice will be coming your way soon. Additionally, there will be a Low Carbon Transport initiative as well as the launch of a Cowal-wide car sharing scheme to encourage the communities of Cowal to cut carbon and costs by lift sharing on journeys throughout the region. |
