To promote local producers in the community KCF held regular markets in 2011 which took place on the last Saturday of every month between May to November.
The produce available on these days was fresh, seasonal and locally produced. Showcasing lots of different vendors, 2011 has seen local cheese makers, bakers, purveyors of fine smoked meats, seaweed, oysters, as well as fair trade herbs, spices and olive oils, jams and preserves. Not strictly restricted to food there was also amazing jewellery, wood and textile crafts available as well.
KCF markets were busy and bustling with lots of satisfied customers. Held in the Kames Recreational Hall, the markets were a foodie’s paradise. It is widely anticipated that KCF will continue to run the Markets in 2012 so if you love delicious food, fabulous crafts or just fancy meeting up with friends and neighbours for a chat over a cup of tea and a slice of cake and a quick browse, please check back for updates on the forthcoming 2012 Market schedule!
KCF are always looking for new, creative and vibrant producers – they’d love to hear from anyone producing food and/or crafts locally; there are plenty of discerning customers in the area who love to try something new!
